Welcome to BodiLab’s Core Values
At BodiLab, movement is about more than fitness—it’s about coming home to yourself.
You might not hear us say "body politics" in sessions, but the experience you have is shaped by them.
Everything we offer is rooted in:
🌀 intuitive movement
🌈 radical inclusion
🧠intentional design
🔬 science and systems awareness
These principles shape how we teach, how we adapt, and how we support you. Here’s what that means in practice:
Our Values
🌀 Intuitive Movement
Intuitive movement means you tune into what your body needs today, not what a fitness app or algorithm demands.

Like intuitive eating, it’s a practice:
Not instinct, not impulse; but learned self-trust.
We offer tools, not rules, to help you move with compassion, capacity, and curiosity.
We don’t chase exhaustion. We don’t “blast” or “shred.”
We believe growth happens at the edge of ease, not through punishment.

Intuitive means asking:
-
What feels valuable today, not just physically, but emotionally?
Sometimes, that’s a quiet walk.
Sometimes, that’s strength-building.
Sometimes, it’s rest.
All of that has value.
🌈 Radical Inclusion
Fitness spaces often exclude, explicitly or implicitly.
We aim to build one where more people feel at home in their bodies.

BodiLab welcomes:
-
People in bigger bodies
-
Trans and nonbinary people
-
Neurodivergent folks
-
People with chronic conditions or disabilities
-
Anyone who’s been hurt, sidelined, or unseen in traditional fitness spaces
Our approach is simple: design from the margins.
That means our sessions include modifications, flexible structures, and clear prerequisites (like: “can walk for 30 seconds without medical risk”)—so you can assess fit with confidence.
We believe every body is worthy of movement, without shame.
🧠Intentional by Design
Our clients bring complex, beautiful lives with them. So we design with intention, not assumption.

That includes:
-
Sensory-aware pacing and cues
-
Trauma-informed approaches
-
LGBTQIA+ affirming practices
-
Acknowledgment of body-image histories, disordered eating, and gender euphoria/dysphoria
No single solution fits everyone. But we’re always asking: what would make this more supportive?
🔬 Science-Informed, Politically Aware
BodiLab is grounded in the Health at Every Size® (HAES) framework.
We also acknowledge that where you live, your access to care and food, your experiences of oppression or privilege—these social determinants of health shape outcomes far more than individual behavior.
We reject:
-
Healthism
-
Moralizing health choices
-
“Willpower” myths that ignore structural inequality
We embrace:
-
Practical, evidence-based ways to support movement, mobility, and wellbeing
-
Your own reasons for moving: whether for health, joy, ritual, or resistance
💬 In Short
At BodiLab, we don’t train for punishment or perfection.
We train for presence. For pleasure. For function. For care.
You don’t have to earn your body. You already live in it.
If that resonates, welcome. We’re building something different, and we’re so glad you’re here.
